Group Halloween Costumes for Women
Crayola Crayons are a popular group costume for women this year. Pick your favorite color, and wear a sexy tank dress Crayola costume.
The gang from the movie Bridesmaids would be a hilarious Halloween costume. One of you dress as the bride, and the rest wear similar fuchsia dresses. Bonus points if you were actual bridesmaids and already have matching dresses to wear. Every one can carry matching bouquets.
Speaking of girls in pink, what about the Pink Ladies from Grease?
Dress as the most popular girls at Rydell High School: Frenchie, Rizzo, and Sandy. If there’s a guy or two in the gang, they can don Danny and Kenickie costumes.
Glee costumes beg to be worn in a group. One lonely girl in a Cheerios costume and high pony is kinda sad. But put three girls in Cheerios outfits, and suddenly you’ve got Brittany, Santana, and Quinn. You don’t have to have exactly 5 ladies, either. As long as somebody dresses as Babydoll, you could pull this of with 3 girls and people would know who you’re supposed to be.
Group Costumes for Men
For a guys’ group costume, dresses as the guys from The Hangover Part 2. Phil just requires hair gel, a button-down, and some aviator sunglasses, Stu just needs the Tyson tattoo and some glasses, and for an Alan costume can wear the yellow dog t-shirt and Bangkok hat.
Star Wars and Transformers also make a great men’s group costume. Halloween is your chance to be a kid again.
Large Group Halloween Costumes
The key to costumes for large groups is to pick a theme that has generic characters. That way, you can have as few or as many members wearing costumes as you need. It’s flexible.
Take a football team, for example. (Yes, there’s only 11 players on a football team, but you can still pull it off if you only have 7 people, or you can dress as opposing teams if you have more than 11 people.) Dress up as a zombie football team with zombie cheerleaders, like they did in the SuperBowl episode of Glee.
The Smurfs would also work for a large group. A few people should be the main smurfs (Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy Smurf, etc.) and everyone else can be randoms who can customize their Smurf outfits however they want.
A large group could also dress in M&M costumes. It doesn’t matter how many or how few people you have for this costume idea to work. All you have to do is coordinate colors so that you have a variety.
Couple Halloween Costume Ideas
Flapper costumes, zoot suits, and gangster Halloween costumes are more popular than ever, thanks to Boardwalk Empire. Dress like a couple from the era.
Delve into the past dress as an infamous couple from history, like Bonnie and Clyde, Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, or Adam and Eve.
For something more current, Prince William and Kate Middleton make a timely Halloween costume idea for 2011. Wear their royal wedding outfits for Halloween.
Don’t forget those nursery rhymes, which are full of potential male / female pairings. Dress as Little Bo Peep and one of her sheep, Little Miss Muffet for her with a spider costume for him, or Little Red Riding Hood, with a Big Bad Wolf costume for the guy.
